Help Is Available with Your Energy Bill: Learn About Power AZ

If you’re having trouble paying your electric bill, you may qualify for a new utility assistance program.

In March 2026, the State of Arizona launched Power AZ, a new bill assistance program designed to help working families manage their energy bills in a time of rising household costs. The program is supported by a $15 million statewide investment and is expected to help tens of thousands of Arizona households receive immediate relief with their utility bills.

Power AZ is administered by the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) and is part of a broader effort to help families maintain this critical service.

How Power AZ Can Help

Power AZ may be able to provide one‑time financial assistance toward your energy bill, even if you don’t qualify for traditional low‑income assistance programs.

Eligibility is based on household income and need. When you apply through DES, the system will automatically determine whether you qualify for Power AZ or for other available energy assistance programs.

Power AZ expands eligibility beyond federal LIHEAP limits, allowing a family of four earning $108,000 to qualify for up to $640 in utility bill assistance.

Please don’t wait. Funding is limited, so it’s important to apply as soon as possible.
