UniSource provides top-tier service that regularly ranks among the top quartile of our nation’s energy providers for service reliability.
We’re investing in our equipment and systems for better reliability to keep energy flowing throughout the year, through bitter cold and sweltering summer heat.
We're proud of our 99.9 percent electric service reliability. Our goal is to have fewer outages and to get you back in service faster when an outage does occur, from our thorough maintenance program to inspect overhead lines, trim nearby vegetation and ensure our equipment resiliency, particularly in the face of wildfire threat, to wrapping up a multi-year project to install advanced meters to improve service restoration times.
In 2024, the average UniSource customer was without electric service for about 60 minutes, based on the System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI). This metric represents the average length of time a customer is without service due to weather, maintenance, equipment failure and other factors. That compares to a nationwide average above 100 minutes and well within the first quartile of results gathered by the Edison Electrical Institute.
UniSource gas customers, meanwhile, did not experience any service outages last year, despite extreme winter weather and other challenges. This achievement was no accident. It’s the product of a culture of safety, forward thinking, and a commitment to our communities.
With more than 4,400 miles of pipeline serving 170,000 people, our natural gas team works proactively to keep the system running smoothly, through efforts that include annual pre- and post-season assessments and extensive hands-on training.

Through financial support, in-kind contributions and volunteer service, we work to improve the quality of life in our communities so everyone can thrive. Our contributions – funded with company resources, not customers’ rates – help our most vulnerable neighbors, protect the environment and expand educational opportunities.
Here are some of the ways we’re contributing to a brighter future:
- In 2024, we supported nearly 100 charities with $362,000 in donations.
- We're passionate about powering education and supporting the next generation. That's why we support back to school events, teach students about electrical safety and energy concepts, and help teachers deliver compelling lessons, particularly in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields.
- In 2024, 111 active volunteers donated 7,016 hours to the causes closest to their hearts.
- Our customers have contributed more than $560,000 since 2011 to help neighbors in need pay their utility bills through our Warm Spirit program.

We’ve also been modernizing our call center phone system to offer more user-friendly features and services to serve you better. Among the changes, customers can:
