Customers can receive a $160 rebate by purchasing an ENERGY STAR®-qualified variable-speed pump from a UniSource-qualified pool professional. With proper calibration, variable-speed pumps can reduce energy use by 65 percent, potentially saving customers more than $445 annually in energy costs year after year.
Standard pool pumps operate at a single, high speed at all times. Variable-speed pumps can be programmed to operate at high speed only when necessary, which saves energy and improves pool water quality. They’re also quieter, allowing a more enjoyable time around the pool.
Claiming your rebate is fast and easy. Just present your UniSource electric bill to one of our qualified pool professionals, who will apply the rebate as a discount at the time of purchase.
UniSource-qualified pool professionals work with customers to install and calibrate pumps for optimum energy savings. To qualify for the rebate, pumps must be installed on an in-ground pool at a single-family residence. The program is one of several energy efficiency programs offered by UniSource, including discounted LED bulbs at area retailers and rebates on the purchase of ENERGY STAR-qualified heat pumps and air conditioning tune-ups.
Approved by the Arizona Corporation Commission, these customer-funded programs have been proven to be cost-effective for all customers – not just those who participate – by reducing UniSource’s long-term need for new energy resources. They also reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, resulting in reduced air emissions and water usage.
UniSource’s energy efficiency programs have helped electric customers save about 230 megawatt-hours – enough energy to power approximately 23,000 homes for a year. Our gas customers have saved 989 therms, the equivalent of energy use for 1,962 homes annually.
