Efficiency Arizona is a rebate program for income-eligible households to install highly efficient appliances and HVAC equipment.

Eligibility

Rebates cover a percentage of the total project costs, up to $14,000 per household, depending on income level. Arizonans can see if they are eligible by visiting EfficiencyArizona.com/eligibility.

How to Apply

  • Arizonans can apply on the Efficiency Arizona website. They will need to create a website account before filling out their application.
  • Applicants are required to provide the following documentation:
  • Proof of Income. Include the sum of all household occupants over the last 12 months. Acceptable documents include: Pay stubs, tax tax returns, 1040 forms, W-2 forms, 1099 Forms, 406 Forms, Schedule C.
  • Benefit statements.
  • Prior tax year earnings are acceptable.
  • W-2 forms and wage statements/payroll as documentation to establish eligible income for a household.
  • Proof of Identity. Acceptable documents include: Driver’s license, passport, government-issued photo ID.
  • Proof of Residency. Acceptable documents include: Utility bill, mortgage statement.
  • Proof of Homeownership. Acceptable documents include: Deed, consent letter.
  • Utility Information. Acceptable documents include: Utility bill, including your account number.
  • Household Information. Includes: Names of each household member, ages of each household member, special circumstances. (e.g., senior, disabled, or veteran status).

Incentives are available for highly efficient electric appliance upgrades, such as heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, electric stoves, ovens, cooktops, insulation, air sealing, and more.

The program is funded through the Inflation Reduction Act and is part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Home Energy Rebates initiative, which provides financial support to eligible homeowners and multifamily building owners for energy-efficient upgrades.
