Customer Assistance

Having trouble paying your electric bill? UniSource offers several customer-funded programs and partners with local and state agencies to assist customers facing financial hardships and to help them reduce their energy use. These programs provide one-time assistance to qualifying families, payment extensions or monthly discounts.

CARES Program – Lower-income residential customers may be eligible to receive discounted electric service through our Customer Assistance Residential Energy Support (CARES) program.

Payment Extensions – Customers may request a payment extension through My Account on the UniSource website, using UniSource’s mobile app or by calling Customer Care at 877-837-4968.

Short-term Assistance – UniSource works with several community agencies to offer emergency gas and electric bill payment assistance for limited-income customers.

Weatherization Assistance  – UniSource works with partner agencies to provide free weatherization assistance and energy efficiency retrofits to the homes of income-qualifying customers. Among the improvements available are caulking and weather-stripping and the installation of insulation, sun screens and low-flow water fixtures.

Warm Spirit Program – Customers can help ease the burden of other customers who are struggling to pay their bills by contributing to our Warm Spirit program. Customers simply round-up the amount on their bill to the next highest dollar.
