Culture of Volunteerism

Volunteer service forms the heart of our corporate culture at UniSource. Our passion for volunteerism starts with our leadership and is shared by many of our 400 employees, who play a direct role in strengthening the community.

About one-third of our employees actively volunteer on their own or through UniSource’s employee-led Community Action Team (CAT). Their efforts ensure that food pantries are stocked and that children have clothing, school supplies and basic health care. Our volunteers also raise money to fight diseases and help individuals facing hardships to rebuild their lives.

Our CAT volunteers participate in dozens of community events, drives or causes each year. UniSource employees and the friends and family members who join them at CAT events have contributed thousands of volunteer hours in service to our community.

In addition to organizing and funding volunteer activities, UniSource also donates to charities supported by our employees’ volunteer efforts.

Some of the community events and charities that we support with volunteers are:

  • American Cancer Society
  • American Red Cross
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters
  • James Family Prescott YMCA
  • Northland Hospice and Palliative Care
  • Prescott Rodeo and Pioneer Days
  • Salvation Army
  • Santa Cruz County Senior Center
  • Veterans Sportsman Alliance

Request Volunteers

UniSource provides employee volunteers to support nonprofit events when a UniSource employee serves as a liaison with your organization and as UniSource’s volunteer coordinator. You will need to provide the name of that UniSource employee when you submit your request for volunteer assistance. Please submit your request a minimum of 90 days before the event so that we have enough time to secure and coordinate volunteers. Volunteer participation does not guarantee a financial contribution from UniSource.

Request Board Members

Nonprofit organizations may request that a UniSource employee serve on their governing board, provided certain requirements are met. We want to ensure a positive experience for both the UniSource employee and your organization. Qualifying organizations must be able to meet all of these requirements as well as provide Directors and Officers Insurance. UniSource employee board service does not guarantee a financial contribution from UniSource.
