The 51-megawatt Macho Springs wind farm, developed by Element Power, is the first dedicated source of wind power for TEP. Element Power will sell its output to TEP through a 20-year purchase power agreement.
Macho Springs consists of 28 1.8-megawatt Vestas V-100 turbines sited on approximately 2,000 acres of ranchland. The system provides TEP with enough renewable power to serve 12,000 homes.
