UniSource Energy Services needs a highly-skilled and versatile workforce to deliver safe, reliable gas and electric service to customers from border to border in Arizona. With an assortment of positions in communities across the state, job seekers should explore opportunities within UniSource to energize their careers.
More than 350 employees work out of offices in seven cities in Northern and Southern Arizona. These include the border town of Nogales, the college town of Flagstaff and the tourist draws of Sedona, Lake Havasu City and the White Mountains.
“UniSource Energy Services is proud to provide diverse careers from entry level positions to specialized positions throughout our organization,” said Heidi Poturalski, Manager of Employee and Labor Relations. “The company fosters a culture where we provide many opportunities for our employees to thrive.”
With locations in small and sometimes rural areas, our employees can establish stable careers in family-friendly environments with close-knit coworkers. Some jobs may include occasional travel throughout the scenic and historic sections of our state.
Our job openings vary, but some of our roles include:
Engineering – With a goal of establishing reliable service, our gas engineers study, evaluate and design facilities to build pipelines and capital projects. They also work with maps and create hydraulic models. With a minimum of an associate’s degree for some roles, our engineers work on both gas and electric projects.
Customer Service Representatives –Our Customer Service Representatives are on the front lines, giving customers the information they need to manage their accounts and their energy use. They also forward outage reports to our field workers, helping us respond promptly to any interruptions. UniSource serves 98,000 electric customers and 162,000 gas customers.
Field workers – These are the experts who get jobs done in the safest way possible. Right of Way Agents determine land rights that affect company facilities and secure land rights for our company projects. Crew, Foremen and Lineworker positions offer employees the opportunity to work with their hands and see projects from start to completion. UniSource offers on-the-job training and apprenticeships for some roles.
Poturalski emphasized that, in addition to a competitive benefits program and salary structure, the company supports and encourages continuing learning and education for employees. “From hands-on training to formal educational assistance,” Poturalski said, “we encourage our employees to grow and learn in a place where diversity, equity and inclusion are inherent in our core values.”
