Competitive grants process for non-profits

Grants That Make a Difference (GTMD) offers a competitive grants process for nonprofit agencies that help people afflicted by homelessness, domestic violence, poverty, child abuse and other social problems. Our goal is to encourage collaboration in providing services.


    GTMD (Grants that Make a Difference) is an employee-based committee focused on providing funding to nonprofits which serve at-risk groups. Program applicants must meet one or more of the following:
  • Address a community need.
  • Leverage grants and/or volunteers.
  • Collaborate with another nonprofit.
  • Exhibit fiscal soundness with the ability to measure success effectively.

Partnerships

    GTMD encourages nonprofits to formally collaborate with other nonprofit, educational, or government organizations in providing programs in the following ways:
  • Provide expanding or improved services.
  • Increase nonprofit business efficiencies that in turn increase stability and resources for proven programs.
  • Raise awareness, increases participation and/or advocacy of the program services.
  • Provide funding for new or expanding programs (there should be supportaing data that shows community need and sustainability prediction).
  • Increase volunteer involvement (such as a match for a National Service Program).

  • Total funding available for 2014 grants – $155,000
  • Coconino & Navajo Counties: $12,500 total available. Grant request range: Minimum $1,000. Maximum $5,000.
  • Mohave County: $20,000 total available. Grant request range: Minimum $1,000, Maximum $5,000.
  • Pima County and White Mountain Community: $105,000 total available. Grant request range: Minimum $2,500. Maximum $10,000.
  • Santa Cruz County: $5,000 total available. Grant request range: Minimum $1,000. Maximum $2,500.
  • Yavapai County: $12,500 total available. Grant request range: Minimum $1,000. Maximum $5,000.
