Community Partnership Report - Education

In the classroom, or in your own home, UES offers educational materials and safety instruction to teach children about electric safety, help homeowners lower their monthly bills and encourage our customers to join us in efforts to preserve the environment.

Teaching Materials UES provides materials dealing with electrical safety, electricity science, energy efficiency and our natural environment to grades K through 8 in all school districts in our service territory.

Our commitment to educating young minds extends to a variety of teaching tools on our company Web sites. Students can play "Shock Blocker" to learn more about electric safety or visit the & Energy Efficient World" to learn about how to conserve energy.

Classroom materials and presentations reached more than 13,600 students throughout Arizona.

Video games, like "Stop the Guzzler," are available at uesaz.com.

Energy Patrol

With our help, student clubs or other groups can start their own “Energy Patrol.” UES offers information, checklists, printed reminders and materials that help patrol members inspect their schools for energy savings opportunities. Students can help their schools save hundreds of dollars on their utility bills while gaining valuable leadership skills.

Bill Inserts
UES offers advice on how to reduce monthly bills and other useful information using inserts mailed with billing statements. One recent bill insert reminded customers to call 911 if they see a downed power line. Another insert, in an effort to protect native wildlife, promoted the need for adoptive homes for desert tortoises. Arizona Game and Fish officials identified dozens of potential new homes through this "Keep Wild Tortoises Wild" insert.

View UES's bill inserts month by month as far back as 2006.

Public Safety Campaigns
Springtime in Arizona is a great time for yard work, swimming and other outdoor activities. But it can also bring you into contact with overhead and underground power lines. That's why we run radio ads as a reminder that no matter what the activity, electrical safety should be part of the plan.

During the summer, powerful monsoon storms can flood roads and disrupt electric service throughout our communities. Every year, before the season begins, UES offers the public information about navigating hazardous driving conditions, avoiding downed power lines and staying safe during an electrical outage.

We communicate our message to the public through radio and T.V. commercials, as well as bill inserts. Click below to hear the radio commercials in English or Spanish, as well as our television commercial.
